My Little LEGO Post-Apocalyptic Rocking-Horse War Ponies by Matt Armstrong / monsterbrick
The end times may be near (or not! they didn’t send me a party invitation) and the agents of destruction ride cute little LEGO rocking horses… and they brought along some friends! Matt’s vision of the Final Battle of our Judgement shrinks the pale riders down to My Little Pony size and instead of being divine instruments they’re instead constructed with LEGO bricks… a little less imposing than the prophetical doombringers, but I’m gonna guess they’re more fun to play with.

Ramona Style Redesign Contest
Bryan O’Malley, famed creator of Lost at Sea and the Scott Pilgrim series, recently announced a contest to create a a recognizable yet stylistically schway version of his kickass hero Ramona Flowers. Crazy-ass hairstyles were optional, but encouraged. Winners have not yet been chosen, but you can see the amazing renditions from hundreds of tumblr users at the ramonastyle tag. I chose a few of my personal favorites (click on the picture to see the artists’ URL), but check back at Bryan’s tumblr: radiomaru for contest updates.
Broken and Mutilated Facepaint by Verauko
Using black eye pencil and eyeliner, white eye pencil, black eyeshadow, some coloring, and a little bit of Photoshop (to remove her eyes), Verauko has produced some of the most horrific makeup I’ve ever witnessed, though probably perfect for a night out in Silent Hill.

Chibi Gaming Heroes by Jed Henry / Dave Bull
Chibi is a japanese word that essentially means cute and tiny, so I’m definitely excluded from this label and that deeply saddens me. Jed’s Chibi Heroes, an offshoot of his Ukiyoe Heroes series printed on woodblocks by Dave Bull, are a little more uplifting, infusing his traditional Japanese style gaming arts with whimsy and cheek-pinching adorbz.
